Concluding Ceremony of 5 Day Dance Workshop

The VC of IU Professor Dr. Rashid Askari addressed the concluding ceremony of a 5 day dance workshop organized by TSCC at Birshrestho Hamidur Rahman Auditorium, IU. Speaking in the programme as the Chief Guest, he opined: "A man (or woman) without the knowledge and culture of fine arts becomes a beast gradually even if he (or she) is educated. We need good-natured learned persons. That's why, feeling the necessity of the culture of fine arts, we've adopted some plans. The Department of Fine Arts has already been opened. We don’t want to remain in any dark cell. IU will be liberal like the sky enough to be a place for fostering cultural activities." Pro-VC Professor Dr. M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Professor Dr. Selim Toha and Registrar (in charge) S M Abdul Latif addressed the programme as special guests. The programme began with a welcome address by the convenor of the dance workshop arrangement committee Professor Dr. Md. Zakaria Helal. The renowned dance director and trainer Soma Giri from India conducted the 5 day dance workshop.
