Vice Chancellor attended Sheikh Russel’s birth anniversary programme at the National Press Club, Dhaka

The secular citizens' platform -- Sampritee Bangladesh observed the 55th birth anniversary of Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the National Press Club, Dhaka on 18 October 2019. The Minister for Home Affairs Mr. Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal addressed the function as the chief guest with the eminent theatre personality Pijush Bandyopadhyay, the convener of Sampritee Bangladesh in the chair. The discussion was addressed, among others, by Justice Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik, Major General Mohammad Ali Shikder (retd), Islamic University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. H. Rashid Askari, Rabindra University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bishwajeet Ghosh, Dr Nuzhat Chowdhury and columnist Reza Selim. The forum’s member secretary Mamun Al Mahtab Swapnil moderated the programme. The IU VC in his address mentioned that Sheikh Russel was the youngest and the cruelest victim of the political vendetta perpetrated by the anti-liberation force.
