The Department of Finance and Banking started its academic activities on 1^st March 2010 with 75 students under the Faculty of Business Administration, Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh with the motto of producing skilled, corporate & dynamic business scholars and executives in finance and banking sectors who will professionally competent and morally upright to face the challenges of the 21^st century. The Department offers undergraduate and post-graduate programs for the students to develop knowledge and understanding of the theoretical concepts, which are required in the practical circumstances. 

Faculty members are actively engaged in research and published their research works in the reputed national and international research journals. In addition to their commitments for teaching and research activities, faculty members also play an important role in the affairs of the university and community as a whole.

The department offers four-year BBA program, one-year MBA program and other post-graduate programs, including M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Finance and Banking. The Department of Finance and banking offers an enjoyable teaching- learning environment, which has been made possible for the existence of some physical and relevant facilities. The facilities include:

• Fully air-conditioned spacious classrooms and examination hall in a serene natural environment with adequate lightings and other modern facilities.
• A seminar library with rich collections related to business and other issues.
• A well-equipped computer lab.
• Sophisticated multimedia projectors for visual presentation.
