Message From Chairman
It is my great pleasure to welcome to the department of Mathematics at Islamic University (IU), Kushtia, Bangladesh. I am extremely proud of our department and its vital contributions to the overall mission. I believe that this website will provide necessary information about our academic and research program.
The department of Mathematics is one of the potential department in the Faculty of Sciences was initiated in 2004 and started its journey by admitting 40 students in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) program from the session 2004-2005. The department of Mathematics has programs leading to the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mathematics. The department has well equipped laboratories also limited resources and facilities and a few numbers of young energetic academic and non-academic staffs. The department offers an excellent and scholarly environment to study mathematics. Our students are engaged in undergraduate and graduate research and have some presented their research at home and abroad mathematical conference and workshops. The graduate from this department will be an efficient 21st century global citizen. A large number of graduated students are working in the various organizations in both home and various countries of the world with reputation. However, mathematics graduate and their performance in different fields such as research, teaching, banking and public service sectors are very impressive.
