Since its establishment, the department of Public Administration has been conducting undergraduate and post graduate academic programs and offering Bachelor of Social Science(BSS) Honours for four years , Master of Social Science (MSS) for one years , Master of Philosophy ( M.Phil), Doctor of Philosophy ( Ph.D) degrees with much reputation. The department also offers Master of Development Studies (MDS) Evening programs for one year and two year courses. The departments course curriculams both Honors and Masters levels has been constantly going towards in making orient and reorient its students with all specialities of the discipline as well as integrated fields of discipline.
B.S.S ( Hons) in Public Administration : The B.S.S program shall be extended over a period of 4 academic years with eight semesters. The Public Administration under the BSS program is consisted with 40 credit courses and non credit courses. Out of 40 credit courses 32 shall be departmental and 08 allied/ related courses. This program shall be of 128 credits that will be evaluated on the basis of 4400 total marks out of which , 4000 marks shall be for 40 teaching credit course units and 400 marks for oral examination ( viva-voce).
M.S.S in Public Administration: The M.S.S degree shall be extended over a period of 1 academic year with two semesters. This program shall be of 32 credits that will be evaluated on the basis of 1100 total marks. Out of which , 1000 marks shall be for 10 teaching credit course units and 100 marks for oral ( viva-voce) examination.
M.Phil in Public Administration:A study fellow admitted into the M.Phil program shall be required to complete course works of 21 credits out of which 18 credits ( 6 courses) will be for theoretical courses and 3 credits for viva voce by the end of the first year. The total marks for M.Phil course works shall be 700. Out of which 600 marks shall be for 6 credit courses and 100 marks for oral ( viva-voce) examination.
Ph.D in Public Administration: A study fellow admitted to the Ph.D program shall be required to complete course works of 12 credits of which 9 credits ( 3 courses)will be for theoretical courses and 3 credits for viva-voce by the end of the first year. Each theoretical / viva-voce course shall be of 3 credits .
Master of Development Studies (MDS) Evening: MDS is an interdisciplinary social science program.The candidates of this program must have either bachelor or master degree from any reputed university. The academic session of MDS has been designed in two ways. First MDS is offered through one acedemic year for those who have four year's bachelor degree or master degree. Second, MDS is designed for two academic years for those who have a two or three years bachelor degree. Session will start at July to June.
MDS for one academic year program shall be of 40 credits that will be evaluated on the basis of 1000 marks out of which 900 marks for 9 credit courses and 50 marks for research report and 50 marks for viva-voce examination . Each theoretical course shall be of 4 credits and 2 credits for research report and 2 credits for viva-voce.
MDS for two academic years program shall be of 72 credits that will be evaluated on the basis of 1800 marks out of which 1600 marks for 16 credit courses and 100 marks for research report and 100 marksfor viva-voce examination. Each theoretical courses/ viva/ research report shall be of 4 credits .
